Grants for pupils in financial need

“This is a modest fund but over the last ten years it has supported around two thousand pupils in disadvantaged circumstances to access school trips and curriculum enrichment opportunities. Giving away money is the best part of my job!”

LDBS administers a small endowment fund which provides grants to support pupils attending voluntary aided schools who are in financial  in financial need to take part in activities that go beyond the statutory curriculum, including residential trips, music and arts activities.

There is usually around £15,000 – £20,000 available per financial year. The fund is called the City & Diocese of London Voluntary School Fund.

Trustees meet three times each year to make grants. Grants are only made in advance of activities: retrospective claims are not considered. The fund is generally oversubscribed so we ask that schools pay careful attention to the grant criteria.

The application deadlines are: 28 February, 31 May and 31 October
