Unconscious Bias and Building Diversity on Governing Bodies

The first part of this session will help you recognise unconscious bias and how to avoid discrimination. Participants will then look at how to foster an inclusive and diverse culture on governing boards, recruiting a diverse range of governors, and strategic succession planning to build diversity.

  • Gaining an insight into appropriate language and approaches to attract and recruit governors from diverse backgrounds, including how to reach out to Black-led churches and Black professional networks
