The Grey Coat Hospital, founded in 1698, is a Church of England comprehensive school for girls aged eleven to eighteen which welcomes boys in the sixth form. The historic foundation of the school is reflected in its current ethos. Our daily practice is rooted in a confident and generous Christian faith, which welcomes students and staff of all backgrounds and beliefs. We are proud of the strong and inclusive community ethos which underpins our culturally diverse school. We place strong emphasis on language learning and internationalism within a broad and balanced curriculum. The school fosters high aspirations in all its students and achieves excellent academic outcomes and destinations.
The school is situated in the heart of central London close to excellent transport links. When last inspected in February 2020, the school was judged to be ‘excellent’ in the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS). The school was furthermore rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted in October 2022.
