Visions and Values Day, St Nicholas CE Primary School, Shepperton, Surrey

LDBS is happy to share how much hard work and dedication St Nicholas Primary School, Shepperton, has put into re-establishing its Christian Vision over the last year.

After consulting with all stakeholders, they now have a new Vision statement and six new Values, which truly reflect the aspirations of the whole school community and are more fitting with the context of the school in an ever-changing educational and social climate.

The school planned a whole school mix up day around their new Vision - Learning and Achieving, beneath God’s guiding light and love, "Your word is a lamp to guide me and light my path” - (Psalms 119:105).

They introduced their six new values of Kindness, Trust, Wisdom, Curiosity, Courage and Confidence.

The children visited different classrooms and completed writing, drama and art activities to help them remember what their new values are. The school had a lot of support from Mary Thorne and Tim Wright from LDBS to support them in driving their new Vision and Value and also their RE curriculum this year!

The children had a fantastic day and said the following:

“We enjoyed creating the Wise and Foolish Builder's houses in Year One because now we know if you think carefully then your decisions can make you wise.”:

Respect means to me that you tolerate or accept someone else’s beliefs and differences.”:

“We learnt about courage, I remember watching the story of Moses and the burning bush and we saw Moses gaining courage to do what God asked him.”:
