MPS/UPS (Outer London) plus TLR2a

Are you an inspiring English teacher looking to join a high-performing, supportive and forward-thinking school community?

At Bishop Ramsey School, we are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Teacher of English to join our successful English Faculty. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious teacher at any stage of their career, with the possibility of taking on KS3 Coordination responsibilities for the right candidate.

Our English Faculty is a collaborative, experienced and highly supportive team committed to developing confident, articulate and thoughtful young people through reading, writing and spoken communication. We want students to love language, engage deeply with literature and leave school empowered by their ability to communicate effectively.

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

  • Inspire students of all abilities to achieve excellent outcomes

  • Contribute to a rich programme of extra-curricular opportunities including theatre trips, Lit Fest activities and competitions

  • Play an active role within our caring Christian school community

For candidates interested in leadership, there is the opportunity to coordinate KS3 English, supporting curriculum development, assessment, enrichment and teaching and learning across Years 7–9. A TLR2a is available for this responsibility.

We are looking to move at pace on this role and so the closing date for applications is 10am on Tuesday 19th May, with interviews expected to take place on Thursday 21st May. We reserve the right to close the application process early.

An Application Form can be found below. It must be completed in full and applicants should directly address the skills and experience outlined in the person specification. An Equal Opportunities Monitoring Form must also be completed. Both forms should be emailed to recruitment@bishopramsey.school.
