St Peter’s C of E School is looking for an experienced, dedicated and child centred SENCO looking to make a real difference in our vibrant, diverse inner London primary school. We are seeking an outstanding practitioner to join our leadership team and champion exceptional provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
Our school is a warm, welcoming one form entry primary in the heart of Inner London. Our school has a culture that we often describe as rare and special and is a place where inclusion is truly lived, not just spoken about and where every child is known, valued and championed.
We serve a richly diverse community and are committed to ensuring every child, particularly those who are disadvantaged, vulnerable or have SEND, thrives academically, socially and emotionally. Our staff team is passionate, supportive and driven by the belief that inclusion is central to excellent education.
About the role:
As our SENCO, you will be a key member of the school’s leadership team, responsible for shaping and driving high-quality SEND provision across the school. You will:
Build strong, positive relationships with families and ensure they feel informed, supported and valued;
Lead the strategic development of SEND policy and provision in line with the SEND Code of Practice;
Work closely with teachers and support staff to ensure high-quality, inclusive teaching and effective interventions;
Coordinate provision for pupils with EHCPs and those requiring SEN Support;
Manage referrals, assessments and liaison with external agencies, including Educational Psychology, CAMHS, SENDIASS and the Local Authority;
Oversee accurate SEN record keeping;
Support and train staff to confidently meet a wide range of needs, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, language and communication needs and complex individual profiles;
Monitor and evaluate the impact of interventions, using data to drive improvement;
Lead and deliver small groups interventions.
We are looking for:
A qualified teacher with NASENCo accreditation
Someone who is experienced in leading SEND provision within a primary setting;
Someone who is knowledgeable about current educational research, inclusion strategies and graduated responses;
A highly organised, reflective and proactive practitioner;
A strong communicator who build trust with staff, pupils, families and professionals;
Someone who is deeply committed to improving outcomes for disadvantaged and vulnerable pupils;
Someone who is able to nurture a culture where every child feels safe, supported and able to succeed.
St Peter’s can offer you:
A values-led leadership team who prioritise wellbeing and workload;
Ongoing professional development and leadership opportunities;
The chance to make a lasting impact in a community where your work will transform lives;
A supportive, friendly and dedicated staff team;
A supportive management team, who genuinely care;
Excellent opportunities to develop professionally and grow in your role.
