Head of Drama

Salary: MPS/UPS (Outer London) plus TLR2b in recognition of extension extra-curricular activities

Type: Permanent, Fulltime

Start Date: September 2026

Drama is a thriving subject within our Communications Faculty and is studied by all students at Key Stage 3, with strong uptake at GCSE and A Level. The successful candidate will lead the strategic direction of the department, ensure high-quality teaching and learning, and oversee an exciting programme of productions and extracurricular opportunities.

You will join a supportive and collaborative faculty that includes Modern Foreign Languages, Music and Drama, and play a key role in enriching the creative life of the school.

About the Department

Our Drama Department benefits from excellent facilities including:

• Two large drama studios that can combine into a 180-seat performance space;

• Professional sound and lighting equipment;

• A sprung floor suitable for dance and performance;

• A vibrant programme of school productions, theatre trips and extracurricular drama activities.

About You

We are looking for a candidate who:

• Is a qualified teacher with a degree in Drama or a related subject;

• Has a proven track record of excellent classroom practice;

• Has experience teaching across the full secondary age range;

• Can lead, inspire and develop colleagues;

• Is passionate about student creativity, performance and theatre;

• Supports the Christian ethos and values of the school.

Leadership experience of demonstrable readiness to take the next step into departmental leadership would be strongly advantageous.
