The LDBS Academies Trust (“LAT”), comprising a family of Church of England schools in London, is seeking to appoint an outstanding, passionate and inspirational educationalist as CEO to lead the Trust in the next stage of its development.


Created twelve years ago with 5 schools in North London, the Trust now incorporates 10 schools in the boroughs of Haringey, Barnet, Brent and Enfield. Through “LAT2”, it also has 2 schools in Hounslow and Surrey. The Trust has steadfastly pursued its mission to develop these schools, driven by the belief that every child should have the opportunity to flourish in a Christian context.

About the role

The CEO’s role will be crucial to the continued success of the Trust; we seek an individual who will lead with dedication, integrity and a genuine enthusiasm for shaping the future of education within the schools.

The CEO is the senior executive leader and accounting officer for the Trust. They must ensure there is sustainability and compliance, while also mitigating risk. They must drive educational and organisational improvement at every level, and they need to inform the work of the Board and deliver the vision and strategy that it sets.

The CEO will be expected to:

  • Develop a leadership narrative that articulates the Trust’s vision and values in practice;

  • Build an open, transparent and effective relationship with the Trust’s Board and its committees;

  • Ensure the LAT is an “employer of choice”, staffed by talented and skilled individuals at all levels;

  • Enable improvement and disciplined innovation;

  • Secure organisational sustainability to compliance;

  • Build external relationships: foster social and professional capital.
