Are you passionate about education and making a real impact in your community?
St Mary’s in Norwood Green, West London, is a vibrant and inclusive Church of England Primary School. We are seeking a Chair of Trustees to serve a four-year term. You do not need an educational background to apply but skills and experiences that can be transferable from another profession.
A strong candidate for the Chair of Trustees:
• Has the desire to give back to society, is interested in children’s education, is curious and willing to learn.
• Is responsible and accountable for the role that they have volunteered to do and can free up the necessary time required.
• Understands the concept of providing strategic direction to a school and driving improvement.
• Has experience of building and leading an effective team where each member feels valued for their individual skill set.
• Understands governance and compliance and is able to support, encourage and challenge.
• Can build a trusted advisory relationship with the Executive Headteacher and has capacity to meet regularly.
• Ensures the Executive Headteacher’s performance management is rigorous and robust whilst providing a safe space for voicing concerns and exploring solutions.

The typical time commitment is that the Trust Board meet half termly/six times a year on a Thursday from 4-6pm in Ealing.
