Salary: £79,700 to £90,856

Place of work: The LDBS office at 36 Causton Street and schools in the Diocese

LDBS is seeking to appoint a Senior Christian Distinctiveness Partner to provide leadership within the organisation and to ensure high-quality support in relation to all aspects of the Christian character of Church schools.

LDBS supports and advocates for Church of England schools and pupils across 18 boroughs of London, a community that comprises 154 schools and 55,000 pupils. We want children’s futures to be transformed in schools that are “deeply Christian, serving the common good.”

There is a Genuine Occupational Requirement for the postholder to be a practising Christian. Applications are especially welcome from anyone with a Global Majority Heritage because we wish to address current under-representation. The successful candidate will either be a SIAMS inspector or be willing to train as one.

Your wide-ranging role will include:

  •     Overseeing major events for pupils such as the annual LDBS service at St Paul’s Cathedral

  • Ensuring LDBS provides distinctively Christian support to schools

  •     Contributing to meetings and training to equip Church school leaders

  •     Engaging with stakeholders across the wider education system to advocate for Church schools

  •     Providing leadership within LDBS to ensure our work is in line with the faith and practice of the Church of England

You will possess:

  •     Experience of senior leadership in a school

  •     Strong understanding of the SIAMS framework

  •     Understanding of current issue issues facing Church schools

  •    The ability to use a consultancy/ advisory model to effect change
