LDBS provides project management of school building projects and redevelopments and supports land transfers and statutory title transfers. We are currently developing a net zero carbon strategy for our schools and investment property.

About the Role:

We are looking for someone to support the Operations Director to manage as estate of 180 school and investment properties, to ensure that properties comply with all statutory obligations, industry standards and provide inspiring places to learn for 58,000+ pupils.

Duties will Include:

  • You will be joining a growing and active asset management team, contributing to the development of an asset investment strategy and providing effective investment planning solutions;

  • Internally you will work with Education and People & Culture colleagues to determine cyclical surveying programme requirements and educational requirements;

  • Externally, you will work with school-based colleagues to make sure repair requirements are identified and understood, and with wider stakeholders (e.g., Local Authorities, Parishes, consultants and contractors) to achieve the desired outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have experience of:

  • Designing and delivering planned, cyclical and responsive surveying and maintenance programmes;

  • Stock surveying, including developing templates and delivering volume stock condition surveys;

  • Critically analysing asset data and using it to provide detailed specifications, cost forecasts, and to inform long-term investment planning;

  • Carrying out defective property investigation, diagnosing and problem-solving defects, undertaking option appraisals, and providing clear written property survey reports;

  • Knowledge of health and safety statutory obligations and implementing effective risk management;

  • Expertise of working within education settings would be an advantage.
