St Mary’s, Twickenham, ‘Hamper of Cheer’ Project

Gifts for Christmas

At St. Mary's CE Primary School in Twickenham the pupils and staff aim to live out their Vision of 'True Love shows itself in Action'. This is even more evident at this time of advent as they think about others and providing hope and love to those who need it.

Through our class worships, they looked at the story of Ruth and Naomi and the value of friendship and thought about how friendships like Ruth and Naomi's can reach across generations. They decided to take part in the 'Hamper of Cheer' project. Each class collected a few gifts and together  showing 'Conemur', their school motto, and the school were able to send eight wonderful hampers of cheer to Embracing Age Charity.

They also sent two Advent Gift of Hope; chickens for a family in Burundi, Africa and a toy package for a child living in poverty in the UK. These two advent projects have been wonderful ways of sharing joy and love as well as spreading hope to people in need in the UK and beyond.
