Preparing to sit on an Exclusion Panel

Platform: Online training

Course fees: Free to schools who buy into Core Services or £30

When a pupil is suspended (previously known as a ‘fixed-term exclusion’) or permanently excluded, your governing board has a duty to consider parents’ representations.

This training session is for governors who are interested in joining an Exclusion Panel (also known as a disciplinary committee). It will give you a clear idea of how the panel should be conducted, typical challenges you may face and what you need to do to fulfil your role, in accordance with the statutory guidance, confidently and effectively.
