Fulham Boys School are seeking an outstanding teacher on a year’s contract to join a successful and thriving PE and Sport department in a school where sport is a pillar that the school was founded upon. PE plays a significant role in the school with all boys at KS3 having at least 2 PE lessons and a sports afternoon a week. We also run a comprehensive co-curricular programme with a variety of different sports available to try with the ideology of finding everyone a sport they love for life.
The successful applicant will play an integral role in the department as well as the wider community of the school, including Saturday fixtures in all terms throughout the year. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with the Head of PE and Head of Sport in the running of the key stages throughout the school.
We have a strong uptake throughout KS4 and KS5 with pupils selecting from GCSE PE (AQA), NCFE Health and Fitness, A-Level PE (OCR) and BTEC L3 Sport. In the previous years we have had 100% A*-B for A-Level, as well as 100% D*D*D* – DDM for the BTEC L3. Due to this, KS4 and KS5 experience is desirable.
The four core sports of the school are Rugby, Football, Cricket and Rowing with the boys competing in London and nationally in all sports. The PE teachers as well as other members of staff play a significant role in preparation and development of the teams. With this, having a specialism in Cricket is desirable for the role.
