The post will include a full and active role within the school’s Middle Leadership Team. You will be skilled in monitoring, evaluating and supporting teaching, learning and assessment across school. We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, inspirational and enthusiastic leader with a commitment to achieving excellence for all children. The successful candidate will have a clear focus and understanding of what is outstanding SEN practice, current pedagogy and up-to-date legislation.

The job involves:

  • Support for the Catholic ethos of the school
  • The monitoring of vulnerable groups and targeting of interventions to accelerate progress through a system of provision management
  • The effective targeting of resources, including staff, in order to maximise progress of groups and individuals vulnerable to underachievement, and to safeguard children
  • Communication and collaboration with outside agencies to support learning, behaviour and social development, including Educational Psychology Service, CAMHS. Occupational Therapy Service and Speech and Language Therapy Service
  • Termly IEP reviews with parents and teachers
  • Annual Reviews (preparing and chairing)
  • Provision Management
  • Management and upkeep of children’s SEN files
  • Referrals to external agencies
  • Completion of SEND paperwork from external agencies
  • The ongoing work of the school concerning safeguarding children
