An exciting opportunity for an experienced History Teacher to lead our very successful History Department and to join our caring and tight-knit community.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic teacher to lead our very successful History Department. History is a thriving subject and is a popular choice at KS4 and KS5. Students achieve excellent results and their learning is enriched by visits, lectures and seminars outside of school. The ideal candidate will be an innovative and skilled practitioner. They will be required to teach KS3, GCSE and A level.

The successful candidate will be joining a tight-knit community – the turnover at GCA is consistently low and the well-being of our staff is important to us. We aim to support staff to achieve a sensible work-life balance. All staff are different and supporting them requires an individual approach.

The personal development of all our staff is highly valued at GCA and we offer the opportunity to apply for our Learning Award of up to £2,400 per year for your continued professional development or other skills and talents. This is in addition to the school’s ongoing CPD programme. Other benefits staff can opt into include a cycle to work scheme and an interest-free annual season ticket loan.

Staff at the Academy collaborate and support each other by sharing good practice and taking a team approach with a focus on collective responsibility. Paul Sutton, our Principal, encourages teachers to have an impact beyond their subject and he is always available and happy to discuss ideas with you as to how this can be achieved. We have an impressive range of extra-curricular activities and all our staff are involved in running at least one.

Why not pay us a visit and find out more? We know that this is a busy time of year and will try to find a time that works best for you. Contact Viv Oxley by email at voxley@greigcityacademy.co.uk or by calling 020 8609 0100.

GCA has a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and has safer recruitment procedures in place for the selection of staff. It is committed to the principle of equal opportunities – we welcome all applicants and value the diversity they bring.

Please download the application form and email your completed application and supporting statement to voxley@greigcityacademy.co.uk

The closing date for receiving completed application forms is 5pm on Monday 23 May 2022.
