The Competency Framework for Governance identifies Clear structures which avoid confused and overlapping responsibilities as one of the six features of effective governance. This course examines the different ways in which boards can organise their work, in particular
- Maintaining a clear distinction between operational and strategic leadership
- How to ensure clarity in delegation to individuals – protocols and role descriptions
- Committee models – different options, how many do you need?
The course does not cover panels or statutory committees eg complaints, exclusions, admissions etc.
